UO has made it's time, it would be a really bad idea to rehost a local UO server considering the past experiences and fuckups we've had

Maltese people seem to dislike each other. Watch as the UO shard filed repeatedly and well over a hundred people playing WoW but on different servers. Guild Wars 2 might be a fun game to start with a group of Maltese people. We will have to wait and see.

i think its a waste of time to set up a server, find a co location etc etc

the only reason for a maltese comunity it's cause it's local, cause you know each other, and as avaloner mentioned in the other thread, it's fun to play with people who you know

Well then what the fun in playing online if not beat or get beaten? If someone gets beaten up, he should not ween, instead he should train more ( taking from personal experince in aoe :rolleyes: )

And also that's why a place where we can really fight, i mean if we play UO, you could roleplay that there's wars between races.. and sometimes everyone forgets the role-playing, ie roleplays his defeat...

it's easy to say that, but the maltese ppl just don't stand by it just because you typed it now. your talk shows that despite all that you used to hear from "that guy" telling you about UO local community (which bDw was ME) you still don't seem to have had the ACTUAL experience.... :D

Also Maltese people are fairly poor so anything with a monthly fee will get you few players. Preferably the game also has to be free to download.

Frodo, I have always believed in taking a Maltese Community on a foreign UO Server, and it was the most successful one. The maltese playing on Demise (a foreign shard) are still enjoying it. This is the 3rd year I think.

You enjoy playing with your friends in a shard where 10,000 people play. It's nicer than just 10 people, knowing each other, in one shard..

ur right, though i always considered myself to be pretty bad at the game until i figured out most of the players were cheating. if a new server is hosted probably(depending on the admin) there will be cheating again and we repeat the story over again

Ideally the admin would be someone who plays to entertain others (akin to a Games Master in table top RPGs) So he could be the wood cutter in the woods who needs your assistance, the Orc boss in a dungeon who carries some good rewards, the Librarian who sends you on a quest to find this long lost parchment, or the King of the kingdom addressing his subjects. Leveling a character as an admin can be dangerous.
