There has been a lot of commotion lately on the Xbox 360 Warranty in Malta. Xtreme representative, Steve Pavia, has given us more information on the Warranty within Malta. Hope it will be of help. For more information he can be contacted on 21443229. Thank you for your attention.

Hi Im from Xtreme in Bkara I read many comments on this board that are misleading and miss judged. Most of them actually where immature and irresponsible. Microsoft does not support Xbox in Malta that is a known fact , I have been importing the original Xbox for more than four years... actually I was the only one in Malta and have been in contact with Microsoft Malta ever since, trying to get support and trying to involve Maltese Gamers. The response was always negative... there answer always was that we were part of middle east and not EU for them. But if you call Microsoft Malta they might give you my number and tell you that I might try to help obviously Im doing this voluntarily and in good will to make a better name and good reputation.

I managed to make a deal with my supplier through Microsoft that I repair any Xbox 360 with 3 red light for those customers that had got it from me ( I try sometimes to help out other that got it from somewhere else but if my supplier notices the serial number of the console that it was not from my stock they will refuse). And I offer another offer if anyone will be interested in getting it replaced rater that having his old console fixed and have a newer model may be even better just to pay a small fee (which is the shipping plus insurance which varies from the quantity we have to ship but its always are LM10 to LM25 all depends on the quantity we ship. The only problem is time sometimes it may take up to six weeks to get it replaced. BUT only for those to chose to wait and have it replace for a new machine for those who would like to have it sooner and fixed we fix it for free if its under our warrantee.

The good news for Maltese gamers is that by hopefully the end of the year Microsoft are going to give us an interview to see if we can launch Xbox in Malta officially and be the official distributors it take some time and a lot of red tape but we are working on it very hard then for all the people who got it from us will be having 3 years guarantee like any other place in EU and if something goes wrong you should have no hassle in getting you machine fixed. The only problem is that even Microsoft is take a lot of time to give you back your console.

We are working on making Xbox live community stronger in Malta by tiring to get Microsoft to make a Maltese server run buy us and therefore have better speed for you. Anyone that need help with his Console just contact us and we will do our best as we did with other people even though they did not get it from us.

Kind Regards
Steve Pavia

One thing bothers me. If this guy is the "official importer" for the xbox360, why is it that he charges for replacements, while IQ replace it for free, and within a smaller time frame?

I will ask myself, since I'm going this afternoon because of XBox problems (the same problem as before... seems it hasn't been solved yet!)

I guess it all lies with the resources the person has. If the business is big then one can afford to offer better after sales service even if it means money loss in the short term. Small businesses cannot afford to lose money in any way. Obviously that is just my opinion and the real facts may be very different.

If Xtreme can change things then kudos to them. Since ms extended the warranty to 3 years they have a huge backlog of repairs which are slowing down the service considerably. When my 360 is back on track I will visit the store and see what I can buy... just for support's sake.

Alot of pple claim to be something they are not, i`m not saying he is lying but nowadays pple are very good at claiming something they have no right to (again i did not say he is lying) just to make money

Hi Im doing my best to help everyone on this issue, on the other hand I understand most of the gamers that have their Xbox dead and are waiting for their new Xbox .Things should run smother after the Ferro Agosto has ended and Im trying to get this 3 red lights nightmare running the best for both parties.

I know that some people have been waiting for 3 weeks but as you might have read even Microsoft had their problems on this issue. Regarding the charges for replacement I can assure that Im working on it and only have charged people who had there Xbox for a long time not the once still under our warrantee and with the seal ( not modded or modified) hope that I have cleared this issue.

I appreciate people like Avaloner who are willing to show us there support, the gaming market in Malta is very difficult in fact we are the only shop for gaming we try to bring all console and meet everyone whishes. Regarding prices I think they are at very reasonable compared to other shops. But most of all and I think its the most important I am trying to make it a place where gamers meet, where you can try the games before you get them or you can sell your games when youre tired of them. We can make tournaments and do not need to pay loads of money. Im open for ideas and I am looking forward for all suggestions I want to create the community for Maltese gamers. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any ideas.

Thanks
