Gr8 as usual.
I've got Metal Gear Solid 1, 2: Substance w/documentary, 3: Snake Eater (still need to get subsistence), Portable Ops (will get+ aswell) and Metal Gear Acid 1 + 2.
I also own the original OST of Mgs 2+3. Still need to get of Portable Ops and will eventually get of MGS4.
MGS series is one of my all time favourite series. An art.

i agree that it's an art, although the acid series are a pain in the back, so tedious to get through!

i have these original MGS games + all the OST
Metal Gear Solid - PS1
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Substance) - PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3 (Snake Eater) - PS2
right now ps3 is way too expensive for me so i cant play MGS 4 :(
but still all MGS games are awsome and its a nice collection to have.

sony should release a UMD reader, i know its quite unusal but it would be cool you can plug it to the ps3 via usb and then insert the UMD disk and play the games u want like mgs acid, instead of using remote play with the psp.

I only played MGS 2 and it was good fun. \i plan on getting MGS3 as soon as the price goes down a bit.
Was going to insert a joke on the other Solid Snake I like to play with in my free time but I think I'll pass.

well... okay MGS is a great series but it is unfortunate for Namco that they are tied to exclusivity by Sony on MGS4... no wonder they are losing exclusives, did you know they have to sell at least 500,000 copies to make a profit? compare the figure to the worldwide ps3 sales and then subtract most japanese sales (cause MGS is famous here in the US and EU but not really a big hit in Japan). You'll immediately notice that MGS4 has all the ingredients to make a loss, absurd i know but these are facts.
All i can say is that Namco will be doing the right thing if like it is rumored they release MGS Online on the 360 too (no exclusivity ties on this one). I just hope they introduce online cross-platform multiplayer or the poor sony fanboys will end up suffering due to their "not so perfect" online multiplayer features.

Are you saying the PS3 is a good console because of only one game? That is doing a disservice to the system. First real price cut coming soon. The prospects of getting a PS3 are slowly increasing although with the weak library of games it has its still now worth it.

All the metal gear solid games sold over 3 million copies worldwide. MGS jumps the 7.6 million+.
and you're very wrong that MGS isn't famous in Japan.
Neo19. Bow down to KOJIMA! and REPENT!

as the others said before repent and honour kojima hehe.
to make mgs online cross platform compatabile there will have to be alot of sync issues, for example if ps3 releases an update and it modifies the game in some sort of way mgso must be fixed for the xbox 360 and its not quite a good idea. to make halo 2 cross platform they have had many syncing issues probably. even though if u have windows vista u need to pay for a windows live gold account (silver is the free one) to play with xbox. its quite a waste of money imo.

ps3 is a good console because it is even getting its own TV tuner that lets u record tv pause it and rewind. u can upgrade the hard drive at a minimal cost of lm40 for a 160gb HD. it has no overheating problems, the ps3 has been on almost all week becuase when i don't use it, folding@home is on which uses all cpus. the exclusives are all in 480i-1080p. and the backwards compatibility is great. ps3 has 8 spus (cpu but for ps3 cell), and even though it has 256mb video ram the 8 3.2GHZ SPUs make more data get processed faster through that chip. plus no red light of death

Technology wise I couldn't agree more that it is the best console out there. All we need to do now is wait till the catalogue of games becomes vast.

while i agree that build wise the ps3 is better...this barely gives it the award of best console. And regarding multiple cpu cores...cell cores can't be compared to a normal cpu core. It is like comparing intel & amd, totally unbalanced.
From the nextgen consoles, the xbox is the best all rounder. I have had 3 360s and have never had any overheating or rrrod problems and the games are AMAZING.

Technology wise I said it's the no.1 console. All rounder I highly agree its the 360. As I said once the ps3's games catalogue begins to flourish solidly.
Then it will become a tough competitor.

remember, ps2 took 2 years to pick up momentum. xbox 360 had a headstart of around 1 or 2 years

still, ps2 had great launch games. Not to mention the 360 had an enormous game library upon release
anyways, i am happy with ps3 since it is the best bluray player you can buy.

1) there are cheaper bluray players nowadays
2) for inmovie menus, you will need a BD (java) capable bluray movie....not a normal dvd. It works on most of my bluray collection

Regards to ps3 with tv tuner I totally disagree with it being an advantage, the 360 is made to be integrated with a windows media center environment and thus should have (if you have a really cool home network) a fully featured media center compatible tuner card which provides you with anything you need regarding tv ;)

but not that many people are gifted with the media center capabilities, and they dont have a tv tuner card its better u plug a box to the ps3 and ur good to go hehe

sure... now please compare media center features with "puny-to-be limited feature ps3 gadjet" and u'll get my point, oh and btw anyone with vista having home premium or ultimate editions has media center... so yes if not everyone has, everyone will have media center and i'm sure a pci tv tuner card is much cheaper than a ps3 "ultra sleek" gadjet lolz.

you kinda lost your point here... I think what matters most is that the ps3 multimedia 'centre' can function on its own. For the xbox you would need a pc
(and they say i'm biased towards MS!)
