This a current problem with most western democracies.

Liberalization is the problem.
Once you introduce one thing, tens of thousands follow all linked to the first one .

I was waiting for this thread to be opened.

It really is utter bullshit, the way he got treated in court....if im not mistaken he was also accused of insulting the president of Malta......hellloooooo!!!! freedom of speech anyone!??!?!!?!?!?

Plus I never heard him say nigger once, he always spoke formally about this topic, apart from when he used to make fun of the two major parties in Malta for not tackling this issue seriously.

I think it's quite true what he used to say," Chi ride l'ultimo, ride bene!", although I don't really think he will have a good laugh watching his beloved country being ruined due to the mass invasions of these illegal immigrants.

As much as I respect his ideas, and he is like the stinking bee tipo Socrates in the Greek democracy, pero he went some steps far. Accusations against the President of Malta are utterly high, and no freedom of speech is not a good defence against such an accusation.

The President of the Republic is not some Ganni tal-Laham, nor Toni tal-Haxix, he is the person representing the whole of the Republic, he is the person who is representing the Democratic System, the person who is representing the Constitution of Malta, an attack against him is not against him personally but against these whole values. PS by him I do not care the face, but the seat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Malta Might help you more

The President appoints the Prime Minister
The President appoint the Ministers
The President appoint the Head of the Judiciary System
The President appoint the Head of the Police Force

An attack on the President means an attack on all these bodies - attack against the Republic.

So please let us not be soooo pro free to speech without knowing our limits.

If anything, the President is the person who can say the least about representing us. We all had a say in voting for which political party leads parliament, never had a say in who leads the country. And yes it is freedom of speech, you've never heard 90% of comedians, freelance writers, bloggers, etc, who do more than ridicule presidents.

Not to mention the lame sentences given to child molesters. Seeing a bunch of suspended sentences after some immigrant rapes an underage girl/boy just makes my blood boil.

Exactly, now if I'm not mistaken yancho, he once ridiculed the current president of Malta on the way he treated Mr. Zeppi Il-Hafi who is a notorious criminal and there is no denying to that.

Speaking about Zeppi and the judiciary system, may I remind you that this guy got pardoned by the president himself a couple of times.....and it wasn't just some possesion of a joint.........trafficking of Cocaine, attempted murder, illegal importation of whisky and so on.

And this guy was never blaimed for anything.......is that fair? All I'm asking is the Court Of Justice fair with everyone?

NO

Sometimes I strongly believe that Norman Lowell was a bit of a threat to both parties, so they ( I'm not pointing any fingers to just 1 political party) took the easiest way out.....blame him with racial hatred ( as if ), and send the guy to prison. It's like being back in Medieval times, you say something against the Churches ideals, you get blamed for heresy. F*** off!

That's totally true. Both parties work in amazing unity when it comes to screwing other smaller parties off. The way districts are arranged are a good example of that. Norman Lowell was silenced on the media, against freedom of speech principles.

He appoints them as in he signed the papers... not that he was the one who chose them!

Cerimonji zejda imo kif qedgha bhalissa... Job ghal tal qalba... li ma jinkludi xejn hlief li issifer minn fuq dar il poplu...u toqghod il palazz...u taghmel li jghidulek...

EXACTLY!

And here we do not vote for the President so I wonder how he represents this country. There are a lot of things which should change in this country, not only the judicial system.
