Ventrilo Test Server Up and Running

So lets begin with the first new facility being sponsored by di-ve and managed by NetLeague. Basically we are in the process of getting a Ventrilo server up and running for public use.

We currently have a 50 slot server up and running and available for testing purposes. If all goes as planned, we should have a 200 slot up and running. (Thank you Badboy :dance: ... Ventrilo is 2.3)

Hostname: ventrilo.netleague.org
Port: 3815

The server is hosted in Europe and we had good pings throughout the weekend. We also had some people testing it out whilst playing online and were quite impressed by the results.

Should you have any problems or issues, please don't hesitate to contact us, or post your problems within this thread.

oh yeah ... and if you wish to have a channel for your clan, please contact any of the NetLeague administrators. Including myself, Kamadake, Liquid, npcs and Dragunu (Dak il Qattiel).

No its not only you. Last time i had 180 ping. (maltanet here)

but i tested again just a few secs ago, 60 ping

Its currently 70 ping but at this time maltanet would be very good with pings.

One has to test it with an "x" amount of ppl on it to see but never the less, thanks for this vent server :)

The more ppl in the vent, the better. The upload on that server shouldn't be a problem since it's a server outside malta. Test the pings as much as possible to see if the server is good enough. I occasionaly get 56 ping, never went higher unless i've got torrents on.

well i think yesterday there where about 15ppl including me and ping stayed 70 stable

nah theres something weird going on.

on hlsw i ping the server 120 and when i enter the server im pingin 70-80 on evenings but during the afternoon we had even 150 ping on the same server :s

As far as I know all game servers are meant to be down. For now, the only server that is running is Ventrilo and we need the testing urgently since it's being hosted outside malta. The game servers will be tested later on and hopefully not long.

yeah yesterday internetz was fucked up
we had all day 115-158 pings everywhere except some servers which we pinged 105 constantly!

than in the evening at around midnight they came around and dropped to 78-98ping which is good we went to the gamelan ventrillo server and we pinged 78 so... i say the server is fine but the internetz is zvery shity

usually it ask that cause you use a different port and that server with that port uses a password. Make sure you have everything right.

Me sphinx toxic and hex use it reguraly and the ping is great as well, 80.

I've started getting a few spikes lately on vent. from 100 to 500. Gonna send my traceroute to liquid. most prob this will be looked at on monday. Anyone else getting spikes?

same problem here but the thing is that when i managed to enter (lets stay after the 6th time trying) the server had only 3 people on it. Strange

Hi guys... sorry for the late reply, but we are shifting onto another ventrilo server, since the old one went bust. The DNS pointers have already been changed, and the new IP is 85.190.32.20 Port 3789.

The server is up again and its now 100 slot.

Could you please PM me your Channels so that I re-create them. Thanks guys and sorry for this.

I donno but sometimes we should try using a program called Mumble. I used it earlier on with mewt and its great. Its slightly similar to Ventrilo actually. Plus it has great support with Linux so for those who just want to talk and isn't going to play or does play in Linux could use this.
