I'm starting to like the idea of water cooling my new PC, was wondering whether anyone has any experiences with it and maybe recommend some products. I was looking at the Thermaltake BigWater SE, quite cheap at Lm 40 but read on some forums that cheap kits are not worth it and may be dangerous.

well i haven't used the TT myself but according to tests carried out at anandtech not only does air cooling do a better job but also with less noise..

to be effective water cooling requires alot of money and time.. so much so that my friend removed his asetek set from his machine.

overclocking is only worth it if you just get what your stuff can do out of the box. Maybe i'm cynical because i've seen so many parts come back broken because of overclocking but imo, just see what you can get with stock stuff, write it down on a piece of paper and 2yrs down the line when you need mroe juice crank it up.

back on topic - water + electronics is just one more thing that can go wrong

a pro system would cost more than Lm 100 :/ not worth the hassle i think as well. guess I'll just get a good heatsink and aircooler

and remember, watercooling is not the way to go if you are moving the pc around (like lans and stuff maybe)

watercooling its nice, i have 2 watercooled pcs, one with thermaltake and one a full dangerden system

if you want good wc, forget TT, the pipes are too thin, and the way their radiators cool are a joke

if you want wc that gives performance, look @ www.dangerden.com

if you want a good wc system, be prepared to pay for it

That depends why you want watercooling in your rig. Or for cooling or for show.

If for cooling there isn't a case a kit interested me you have to start picking the best parts that suits for your system. Also depends what you are cooling aswell and for each chip there is a different "best" brand to go. Example cpu go for swiftech, vga go for danger den etc...

If you are for show buy a complete kit with some uv water and some uv lights and it will make notice :)

Btw there is pure non conductive water to use so don't be scared with the theory of water with electronics.

Cheers
