Hey im considering buying an Xbox 360 but i need some feedback from somepeople who own it already :)
1. Do you need a widescreen TV to have a nice resolution?
2. How much does it cost to buy from Malta?
3. Is it good to have it chipped or will i loose all the online fun?
thanks :)

1. The Widescreen TV isn't definitely needed, but it sure is welcoming. I play on a 19" widescreen monitor. The problem with most widescreen monitors is that the aspect ratio's of the monitor and the xbox360 don't match, hence one could observe some slight stretching (tho it's barely noticeable). But I think i widescreen tv would have an aspect ratio that matches the xbox's.
2. Last I check, the xbox360 was priced @ LM 199 from iQ (where I bought mine from). Though with some haggling, I managed to get the price down to Lm189 lol. Still, at http://shop.strato.de/epages/61332320.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61332320/Categories/Gaming you can find what looks like a great deal for an xbox360 Elite.
3. I didn't get mine modified. I don't wanna lose any online capabilities for my xbox. Still I know some people who have theirs chipped and say they're still able to play online (at least before the recent update). Still, I wouldn't risk it. The xbox360 has some great online games, and it would be a shame to lose it's only capabilities. Hitler certainly seems to believe so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYvZnTFpip0

The wide screen TV is not a necessity but obviously if you have a Full HD LCD that would be awesome. I played it for some time on an oldish SD TV, which is the worst setup you can have, and the picture was still acceptable. Now I connected it to my monitor (CRT and not wide screen) and it plays great. Some games will put black borders on the top and bottom of the screen which is bearable.
I have no idea how much it costs from Malta but since the 360 is relatively unreliable do buy it locally if only to have local warranty. Also make sure you get it from a place with good after sales service. If I where you I would wait to buy it after the holidays. There is a good chance that a price drop will follow the Xmas period.
According to my friend, who chipped it, you can play pirate games without getting caught as long as you do not play online. If you are playing online make sure you are using the original DVD. Having said that this is only speculation and I think MS has ways and means to check if you are using a chipped console. My opinion is, unless you use the 360 to play single player games exclusively, you should not risk it.

With regards to widescreen, i'd really suggest a 32" widescreen TV. Other than that the Xbox will support any PC monitor except those with a 1680 x 1050 resolution(not supported yet) using the branded vga cable (don't use gimmick cables here due to interference)
Second as regards price, unless you wanna buy it off someone, www.maltabestbuy.com would be the way to go. Nothing beats an Elite for that price heh.
Third, well my idea is this: DO NOT CHIP YOUR XBOX. The Xbox is made for online play and if you buy your games from the uk sites we all know, it shouldn't be that difficult to afford it.
