The mystery of the missing boat

A boat which had been due to return to Malta last Friday and last made contact a week ago, registered as Simshar. Onboard it had 5 people, including an 11yr old boy and an Eritrean fisherman.

The AFM have been conducting searches since Saturday but found no traces of the missing boat.

Air assets from the AFM's Air Wing, the Italian Military Mission in Malta as well as the Italian Navy and US Navy based at Sigonella were again deployed yesterday to the search areas.

I am very sceptic about this missing boat...

How come did it just vanish without any trace? And worse of all not even a chance to make an SOS call ? Boats don't just sink instantly.

Why did the US involve itself in the search? Is this normal procedure?

I don't want to make a racist comment, but the Eritrean fisherman thing looks fishy to me and I think he is somehow involved as I do not believe the boat sinked.
